Unreal Engine Boids Demo

This is an Unreal Engine Boids flocking system I developed for Advanced Game Programming. I discuss it’s utility in greater depth in the video, however the goal of this system was to evolve the Boids algorithm.

This system allows for the creation of various different Boid behaviours, evolving on the classic 3 behaviours of Seperation, Alignment and Cohesion.

Noobus Hattus is a Discord bot I wrote for an esports community server. The idea was to host a limited time event, where players are optionally sorted into houses, where good behaviour is rewarded with house points. Points could be manually awarded by admins, but most points were awarded by analysing the game’s logs and detecting good behaviour. At the end of the season, the winning house gets a coloured Discord role for the length of the next season.

Voice of Reason is a scheduling bot I made to help an esports team I am on to schedule matches. It polls day-based availability for a week, and then hour-based availability, using timestamps to show the time-zone corrected time (relevant because we have members in multiple timezones), as well as allowing confirmation of changing rosters with nice interface and icons. Players indicate availability by pressing the reaction buttons created by the bot. The thing I’m proudest of is how configurable it is; the parameters of every event are configurable via a YAML file.

Plant Explorer is a three.js program from my Computer Graphics course, which dynamically generates, renders, and lights planets. The thing I’m proudest of is that all planets are lit using a physically based rendering (PBR) bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) which I wrote.
